Welcome to our Learn To Swim program! We’re excited to offer swimming lessons designed specifically for children and beginners who are just starting to build their confidence in the water. These sessions are aimed at individuals with limited water safety awareness, and our primary goal is to teach essential swimming skills while boosting water safety knowledge. By participating, your child/child in your care will gain the tools they need to stay safe around water, helping to reduce the risk of drowning in our community. These lessons are part of an important initiative supported by the NSW Government together with Platform and Co, and we are proud to bring them to families in regional NSW. The Learn to Swim Initiative commenced in March 2025 and is scheduled to run until June 2026. Platform & Co have successfully facilitated over 8000 lessons throughout Central West, Far West and North West NSW. These lessons have been held in the following areas during this time: Narrabri, Wee Waa, Kootingal, Nundle, Boggabri, Bingara, Manilla, Burren Junction, Cobar, Gilgandra, Warren, Mudgee, Kandos, Gulgong and Quambone.
Lessons will be ongoing in Barraba, Baradine, Werris Creek, Quirindi, Armidale, Uralla, Guyra, Mudgee, Gulgong, Kandos and Carinda from February 2026-April 2026. We work closely with local councils and pool managers to facilitate these lessons within the community. We need to work with schools, local community groups, organisations and the general public to ensure lane availability and safe pool access to facilitate these lessons.
